Becca was gracious enough to come over for another lesson earlier today. The goal for this lesson was pretty simple:
Make the cap of the baby beanie.
With that, I unraveled my 15 layer creation and began again.
The only true difference between making the linear chain and the beanie was that rather than going back and forth, we had to stitch in a circle connecting all of the stitches together. The other difference was that after each stitch I had to "go up a stitch" so as to ensure that the the yarn did not curl inward, but rather stayed flat. There in lies the tricky part . . .
By the end of our lesson, I was able to create this . . .
My homework until the next lesson is to add a few more layers to finish off the cap. It is so exciting to actually see the beanie coming along!
I also realized that I am happy that this 20Time project is happening when it is because next month Becca will be traveling to Thailand then China then Mexico and then permanently moving to San Diego. Crocheting would be extremely more difficult over Skype! Thankful for timely things!
