It is finished! I officially completed 5 weeks of learning a new skill and I can honestly say that I truly did learn a new skill. I feel like I officially added a new and unexpected tool to my toolbox of skills. The video below is a brief (or, kind of brief) review/summary of my journey if you will.
One thing I realized during this process was that the more that I got into actually completing the project, the more inquiry questions appeared. It almost made my initial inquiry questions seem petty in comparison to the different things I had to answer as I actually got into the act of crocheting a beanie.
Questions such as:
- What is my plan to continue challenging myself in this new skill?
- How do I mix multiple colors together to create something more dynamic looking?
- What is my purpose and who will it benefit?
- What do I do when I have set backs?
- How will I carve out time in my schedule to actually practice crocheting so I can actually complete this project?
These and many more were things that I had to ask myself throughout the duration of the project.
Although it was challenging at times to actually finish the beanie, it was well worth seeing it on Averie's sweet head . . . and having my other three-year-old niece, Eden, ask if I could make her a purple one. That, alone, was worth all of the work.
It has definitely been a ride, but I'm thankful for it!
