I apologize that this post is slightly late. I normally post at the end of the week, but I was a slightly distracted by this little nugget that was born this past weekend. At 6lbs 2 ounces, my beautiful niece, Averie Grace, was born.
She has been one of my inspirations for my 20Time project, so now you all get to put a face to a name! Being the daughters of both a professional athlete and a professional dancer, Eden and Averie are bound to be something special. Now, all that she needs is a little Auntie Kendal beanie to put the cherry on top.
In realizing that she needs something a little bit more special than a pink beanie, I have been researching ways to spice it up a tad. Although my beanie is nowhere near finished, I have been on Pinterest looking at different ideas to complete the look. I have looked at crocheting a little flower on, or possibly a button.
However, I realized during my search, that there are just a plethora of options to choose from to make the beanie something worthy of Averie's sweet, little noggin:

- I could crochet it into a baby turban
- I could add some ribbon
- Or, just try a more complicated design as I get further down
I'm thinking with this first beanie, I will go with the simple (or, at least I think it is simple) flower or button. Perhaps I will venture into the baby turban territory as I progress in my skills. Although this week did not experience a whole lot of "play," it was full of learning!
