To officially kickstart this 20Time project, a trip to Joanns was in order. I'm not sure who Joann is, but I'm exceptionally curious as to what her craft room looks like.
Anyway, my journey began with me walking up and down the yarn/needle aisle multiple times and having an internal monologue that sounded kind of like this:
I have no idea what I'm doing. I probably look like I have no idea what I'm doing. There are probably people watching video footage of me not knowing what I'm doing. Why is there nobody here to help me? Why are there 350 different yarn colors and 25 different needle sizes?
Finally after about 10 minutes, I found a woman in a green apron who I could call on to put an end to my confusion. Although I could tell she was slightly dumfounded by my lack of crocheting knowledge, she was still quite helpful. I purchased my first needle and some yarn and became one step closer to learning a new skill.
I spent the next little bit looking at YouTube videos on how to crochet and coming to the conclusion that I would much rather learn from friends in my community than from the almost hip crocheting videos online.
With that being said, I have officially set up my first crocheting lesson with a good friend, Becca, next week.
Stay tuned!
