Alright friends, Week 5 is officially complete!
Here were my goals for this session:
1.) Skip a stitch every quarter so that the beanie begins to curve downward rather than remaining a circle.
2.) Continue stitching without skipping stitches so that the beanie begins to fall into straight lines.
Now, here were the list of complications that we came across during completing these goals:
- I had somehow managed to create a tangled nightmare out of my yarn. Apparently, you are supposed to unravel it as you go rather than unravel a good chunk of it all at once (like I did).
- The first time that I tried skipping a stitch every quarter, my reasoned judgement of when I had gone a quarter of the way around the circle was a little off. I wish I had a picture to show what that looked like, but the beanie began to look less like a circle and more like a scalene triangle.
After starting over and mastering it better the second time around, I finally have an almost finished product.

All in all, I am pretty proud of my accomplishment! As you can see the top stitches were a little wonky, but as I kept going I was able to have tighter and more consistent stitches.
The next step is to jazz it up a bit with a flower or some lace! Soon it will be on baby Averie's sweet, little head! I cannot wait to see the finished product. Stay tuned to see how my project wraps up in week 6!
